When Mike moved back to Colorado to go to college, we made a deal (his idea)... He could play in the basement all he wanted, but when I had had enough, I just had to switch the light switch on and off (or off and on) at the top of the stairs and it "turned off" the drums... It saved a ton of yelling and/or martyrdom...
Mike Amadei is lending Jesse a set of drums to practice on for a while until he can afford his own set. He is sooooo happy to have them!
And did you get earplugs? haha
