Today me and James went to the water park for the first time where we saw Farrell. James loved the water. Then we played wii, Joe won, I got my lowest score. Then we watched a movie while James was passed out for the night.

Marla June 14, 2009

Jack and Sam (cousins from Colorado) just arrived tonight. They will be staying with us for a few days. We had a fire, s'mores and played tag in the back yard.

Margie June 14, 2009

Looks like I got a little sunburned at Jesse's baseball game today.

Donna June 14, 2009

Fox River Fest...SO exciting! Guess which one is the regular skunk, and which is the albino skunk! Think about it for a minite. Hmmmm...

Eric and I went to dinner at Chianti's.

Jen June 13, 2009

Today after many of hours of looking for couches we finally found a love seat and sofa. This is the love seat we still need to get the other sofa.

Margie June 13, 2009

I didn't take any pictures today, so I just snapped this one of Jesse who happens to be displaying 2 things that I don't understand - What is comfortable/fashionable about having your pants 1/2 way down and showing your underwear? And, what in the world can you have to say to anyone that you would need to be texting constantly? Do we really need to know what everyone is doing every second of the day?

Miranda June 13, 2009

I was so hungry today, but just couldn't decide what to eat...so, I snacked on popcorn all day!

Juneau is such a great dog he loves James so much. And James loves him too.

Maureen June 12, 2009

Getting ready to sleep for the night in the camper. We're spending the weekend at Blackwell. I had arranged a Cub Scout Family Camping weekend, but only two other families joined in. And, since they're both tent camping and it's raining, they both packed up Saturday morning & headed home. Not sure if they're coming back Saturday night. We're running home every once in a while ourselves, too, to take care of the dogs.

Marla June 12, 2009

Dylan played with some friends at "Infusion Tea Shoppe" in Geneva tonight.

Margie June 12, 2009

Today we launched balloons. We attached notes asking to let us know when and where they were found. We do this every year. Last year we had none returned. Other years, we have been luckier. The farthest away one has ever gone is to Canada. Two fishermen found it floating on a lake. Other places they have traveled are Michigan, Southern Illinois, Elgin, Gurnee. We've had a few go to Michigan. We chart them on a map. I think that if the balloons can make it to Lake MIchigan, then they must catch some lake winds and blow over to Michigan. It is a very fun project!

Miranda June 12, 2009

I watched Gianni on the monitor today...he was so cute entertaining himself in his crib! I got nothing done 'cause I just watched him and giggled!

Jen June 11, 2009

We visited my mom and James made a new friend.

Maureen June 11, 2009

Al went to get a haircut today. She wanted to try wearing it short, but keeping her natural curl. The stylist talked her into trying it temporarily straightened with a flat iron. It's cute & fun! But, I'm looking forward to seeing the curls again some times.

Margie June 11, 2009

This is the only picture that I got today - Jesse crossing home plate to score a run for his team. They lost anyhow. And, they all played pretty poorly. The coach made them all stay after the game and RUN!

Marla June 11, 2009

On our way home from karate Cole wanted to stop at the splash park and run through it with his uniform on...I don't think that he thought that I would let him do it.

Miranda June 11, 2009

I meet up with some high school friends today..along with our kids! It was so fun!

Jen June 10, 2009

Today I got so much done I put lots of stuff away and I changed James bed crib set. I love his sailboat sheets and quilt.

Maureen June 10, 2009

Not a day has gone by since school let out that we haven't had extra kids hanging around our house. Not really a problem - there're kids here anyway, might as well be more of them. This is a boy from Annie & Bryce's class who lives a couple of blocks away. He & his brother are here almost every day.

Margie June 10, 2009

This is another place that we are developing this summer - "Natureland." I let the grass grow tall, cut a path through the middle, and the kids trampled down some trails. We planted some wild flowers and are going to add birdhouses, a hummingbird feeder, a bench, and other pretty garden decorations. This will be a place where the kids can find insects to study, hopefully see some butterflies and hummingbirds, or just sit and enjoy looking at the world. Today they were chasing each other around in the tall grass, then sitting down and hiding from each other.

Marla June 10, 2009

I volunteered at the St. Peter's food pantry today. I used to be a volunteer there before Cole was born. I have been wanting to get back into volunteering for something so I made my decision yesterday to help out to food pantry again (for the summer). This is the only picture that I took...I snapped it real quick while no one was in that part of the basement with me.

Donna June 10, 2009

Yes! 35 years ago we were so blessed! We spent the night with Brooks (and Milo) and Miranda, Joe, and Gianni having pizza, etc. And maybe a beer...

Miranda June 10, 2009

Happy Birthday to Brooks!

Jen June 9, 2009

My Dad came over and helped with the heavy stuff again. Now we have to put the rest away. It finally feels a little more normal upstairs again. I'm soo tired.

Margie June 9, 2009

Guess what? We tie-dyed t-shirts today!

Marla June 9, 2009

Here's some of our tye-dye.

Miranda June 9, 2009

I have been terrible at scheduling a Cousin's Day...I'm working on scheduling a Cougars game...Sorry.. : (

Maureen June 9, 2009

This is one of the three puppies that we have right now. Her name used to be Maggie Jr, but then we saw 'Up'. When we got home from the movie, the kids started calling her 'Kevin'. I think that name fits her much better.

Jen June 8, 2009

This is where Riley hid for most of the day until the installers finally came. They said 8am but didn't come till 2 and didn't leave till a little after 7pm and finally our new CARPET. Then we still had to make dinner and put some things away till tomorrow.

Maureen June 8, 2009

Last day of school!

Margie June 8, 2009

My neighbor keeps bringing rhubarb to me. I don't really like it, and I'm not sure how to cook it or what to do with it. Besides, I don't really have time for baking. But, I graciously accept it in the kind spirit that it is given, and hope that some day I can cook it, or freeze it, or bake it, or...........???

Marla June 8, 2009

We made tye-dye shirts today.

Miranda June 8, 2009

I love Aldi's!

Sunday, June 7

Jen June 7, 2009

Today James tried yogurt for the first time and loved it. My Dad also came over and helped move the heavier furniture. Our basement is almost full. Good bye old carpet.

Maureen June 7, 2009

Our high school graduate!

"In you go"

Margie June 7, 2009

Mike Amadei is lending Jesse a set of drums to practice on for a while until he can afford his own set. He is sooooo happy to have them!

Miranda June 7, 2009

Portillos forgot to give us a piece of chocolate cake that we paid for last week. So, Joe called and complained. They said they would send us a coupon. We received the coupon yesterday and I'm so disappointed that it's for the piece of cake (that we already paid for) and a SMALL drink.....I'm mean, really? That's all they could afford? I guess the ecomony is really struggling!

Saturday, June 6

Jen June 6, 2009

This was Joe's friend for today. We moved as much as we could today. Only the real heavy stuff is left now.

Maureen June 6, 2009

Watching their team finally win one! The other team was short players during the first quarter of the game, so had already forfeited the win. But, we loaned them players and even played Annie & Corey's younger brother on their team during the first quarter. Then, as their team started to show up, we got our players back. Surprisingly, though, our team still actually won the game, for real, too! Their first win of the season, during the last regular season game!

Marla June 6, 2009

Vaughn and Alex at their baseball game.

Margie June 6, 2009

Madi and I went to the movie to see Night At The Museum. It's been over a year since I have been to the movies.

Betty June 6, 2009

Worked all night, then went to a hotel across the street and slept from 7:30AM until 2PM. Got back here at work at 3PM to start again. The team had ordered Indian food for lunch and saved me a samosa (a deep-fried thing stuffed with potatoes and peas) because they knew that was all I really liked. And our project manager had just shown up with ice cream. So my breakfast today was a samosa with chocolate ice cream.

I wouldn’t try the strange purple ice cream shown here. It’s one of David’s favorites from the Phillipines. All I could think of was “I never saw a purple cow. I hope I never see one…”. Here’s a link to the whole poem: http://www.alysion.org/ryan/poems/I%20never%20saw%20a%20purple%20cow.htm

Miranda June 6, 2009

It never ends....and I'm afraid it's only begun for me! : )
