Exhausted on the bus on the way home from camp. Her hair is blue-ish because today was Wacky Wednesday.

Margie June 24, 2009

The kids put the sprinkler under the trampoline so they could jump and cool off too. Madi is at her home this week, and I miss her.

Marla June 24, 2009

Colleen and I went to the Swedish Days craft show today. These are pendants for necklaces. We both bought a necklace from this lady. It was lots of fun picking them out because she had so many to choose from.

Miranda June 24, 2009

Me and my best buddy took a nap together today...so nice!

Today we went to Swedish days with my Dad it was so hot out I gave James Ice cream for the 1st time. James was just in his diaper most of the time. He also learned to clap his hands and say yay! Then me and James danced to the music, he loved that.

Marla June 23, 2009

Hot enough for ya?

Actually I drove by this sign on my way to the bank and it read 104 degrees but I didn't have the camera ready.

Maureen June 23, 2009

Walking across the 'Rainbow Bridge' at camp. The tradition is to choose one color & step only on that color while crossing, then, of course, to make a wish at the end. We both chose purple.

Margie June 23, 2009

What else are you going to do when it's 99 degrees out? This, of course, is a backwards dive. And look in the background. Here comes the haywagon for the Girl Scouts to build thier float for the 4th of July parade.

Miranda June 23, 2009

I was out watering the sod today and found a hole. Some water had gotten in the hole and all of a sudden a couple of baby chipmunks came out! It was very cute!

Near the end of a hot day at Girl Scout Day Camp - cooling off with some water games

Marla June 22, 2009

Lazy days of summer

Margie June 22, 2009

Here is the point in Jesse's game where they should have put on their rally caps. They started the 7th inning losing, 3-6. Then they got 2 runs in. Jesse had an RBI. It wasn't enough though, and they lost 5-6. It was a fun season anyhow. Now I need to talk him into playing on the tournament team next month. Otherwise, I'll have to wait until next spring for high school baseball.

Miranda June 22, 2009

Why do I get myself addicted to these shows (The Bachelorette)?

Today is Father's day we all went to the horse race track. It was soo hot that day. Here's a pic of what we gave Joe for father's day. I went and got pictures of James taken for Joe and my Dad. James was in a Navy uniform.

Miranda June 21, 2009

Gotta love these boys!

Marla June 21, 2009

They tried their "rally caps" but it didn't work. They are out of the playoffs and the 2009 summer baseball season is over.

(Note: The photo was such a perfect shot of 'Boys at baseball game' that it looked to me (Maureen) like they were posing for a Rockwell painting, which made me want to see what it would look like in black & white. Thought I'd add the b/w version here for everyone to see. Nice shot, Marla!)

Margie June 21, 2009

Spring Grove is the site of the first tower silo in America. We are also the home of the World's Largest Corn Maze!! Can 'ya tell we're living in farmer country?

Maureen June 21, 2009

Maureen June 20, 2009

After a long day out in the sun at soccer, the kids asked me to bring them & their friends to the splash park by Cole's house!

Marla June 20, 2009

Eric is headed to Colorado to surprise his Dad for Father's day.

My friend Margaret's son, Mike, competes in demolition derbys. He builds his cars in our barn. Today he competed in Metal Mayhem in Oregon, IL. Jesse, Lance, Madi & I went to watch. Mike's car is 883, the tan car. He qualified in that race to compete in the finals. But, there were many races after his and the kids didn't want to wait until the finals, so we left. On the way home, we had to stop in Hebron for a helicopter to land in the road. There was a motorcycle accident. When we finally got through, there was a dead deer by the side of the road. I think he may have hit it.

Miranda June 20, 2009

Joey...after a long day of more sod and planting...Will things ever slow down?

Jen June 19, 2009

James has learned how to sit in his crib on his own.

Maureen June 19, 2009

Dropped Al off for the summer program at college today.

Margie June 19, 2009

Remember Madi's jellyfish costume from last Halloween? I emailed a picture and description of the costume to Family Fun magazine. They emailed back and told me that they LOVED the costume and wanted to use it in their Oct. issue and pay me $100 for my idea! I don't think that they will use Madi's photo. Looking at last year's issue, it looks like they credit people for their ideas, but make their own costume and use their own models. That's ok. It's still cool that my idea is getting published!

Marla June 19, 2009

Shelby and Annie slept over last night. So, inbetween storms we went to the splash park.

Miranda June 19, 2009

hmm...I did more ironing today..not sure what's gotten into me!

I was cleaning up my desk and found Juneau's favorite toy frog when he was a puppy. He loves it he carries it everywhere and sleeps with it. It's so cute.

Maureen June 17, 2009

Local teachers volunteer at 'Read Under The Trees' events throughout the summer. The kids were listening to this teacher read 'The Pain and The Great One'.

Margie June 17, 2009

This morning when I went out to check the pool, I saw this piece of a leaf on the deck. I thought it looked so cool with the rain drops on it. They're like magnifying glasses.

Marla June 17, 2009

Sam (Colorado cousin) and Cole playing in Colleen's pool.

Today me and James did something special for my dad and Joe. Sorry can tell till after fathers day. But we visited some dogs and the Dogs at home were sniffing me and James I think they were jealous

Margie June 16, 2009

This is a picture of a train car in someone's backyard here in Spring Grove. It is near the baseball park. It seems that lots of people around here have them. I have seen at least 4. I have no idea why so many people have train cars in their backyards???

Marla June 16, 2009

The before and after picture...Cole got his braces off today. We didn't tell anyone so, they were surprised when we got home.

Maureen June 16, 2009

I had planned a meeting time for our Cub Scout Pack to get together, to plan for our entry into the Railroad Days Parade. Note the empty room... Only one other family showed up, 15 minutes late and saying that they didn't even think they'd be in town on parade day (so, I'm glad they at least wanted to help!). Not sure how many boys will be participating, now or if I should bother registering us at all. Looking forward to not being cubmaster next year...

Miranda June 16, 2009

Our friends little girl is giving (trying to) Gianni a kiss. Gianni's face cracks me up!
