Happy Birthday to Uncle B! (I temporarily lost my camera on his birthday, so I used a picture from Brendan's assembly).

I took a walk during my lunch today at work. There were quite a few birds flying back and forth between trees near a marsh.

This is a portrait of the guy who the high school auditorium was named after. It hangs in the hallway outside the auditorium, where either Annie or I will be rehearsing almost every weeknight this month and next. I often wonder what kind of interesting life he lead and why they decided to name the auditorium after him.

Right after the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup Cole and Stephen went outside to blow the airhorn app. on Eric's phone. They hadn't watched the game but went out to celebrate anyway.

Jesse diving into the pool. Finally got most of the green out of it. It was a bit cold for me to swim today, but the solar heater is working great! I surprised myself!

It was such a rainy day. So, we decided that it was a good day to sign up for the summer reading program.

Margie is sharing her collection of Girl Scout uniforms with Annie's troop, so that they can wear them in the Railroad Days parade. Annie tried a bunch of them on, today. We had lots of fun & she can't wait to wear this one in the parade!

On our way home from the first night of rehearsals for WeGo Park District Theater's summer production of Annie. Keep your calendars open for the weekend of July 30! Annie's in the orphan ensemble & in the Hooverville scene. I'm a police officer, an announcer and the assistant to President Roosevelt.

The pool water is getting to be a better color, but the duck still likes to use it. Hopefully the water will be blue and the duck will be gone by Swedish Days.

Cole was trying to figure out this "cap bomb" that I had bought for him. It's like a cap gun, but instead you drop it on the ground to set the cap off. The neighbor boys came over to see what was going on.

Allison & Annie's first doodle of the evening, while waiting for our food to come at Macaroni Grill.

Went & got tickets on "Hot Tix" website (half price tickets) at 1:00 today for the 4:00 "Blue man group" show. It is so awesome and hilarious! If you haven't seen it I would suggest that you get tickets for the next birthday or celebration at your house (you won't regret it!).

Clint getting his hair cut on a sidewalk in front of Foltos Tonsorial in Batavia at 12:30am.
It is a fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House. The barber and his employees cut hair from 10am on Friday and will continue to 4p on Saturday. Clint was the barber's 37th haircut of the 'Chop Around the Clock.'

Some very interesting mushrooms in my front yard. It looks like they are all huddling under a broken umbrella.

We pass this cemetary every day when Dick takes me to work. It's the Holy Cross Catholic one, but it is only one of the 17 in Colma, CA. Our RV park is in South San Francisco, but two sides of the park border Colma.
Donna, I keep wanting to tell you to bring Roger and Brooks out here for a little "vacation". They'd love it... Here's a few links:

Looking for some landscape ideas....I want to put more "flowing" flowers in this bed...but, don't have the creative ideas going. In another life, I would like to be a gardener!

I had a dream last night about cutting this watermelon; it was a complicated project requiring 2 people; when in reality it only took me 3 1/2 minutes to slice it and cut it into bite size pieces.

Brendan received the "Citizenship Award" today at the school assembly. The award is based on excellent academics, involvement in sports, role model with peers and in the classroom, etc! He also got straight A's this quarter! We are SO proud of him!

Last full day of school. They had a party and could wear their pajamas to school. That's Cole and Natalie (she lives across the street from us).

I started weeding out this bed of weeds. Does anyone have shade plants that they want to share or get rid of?

My well-used official census pencil. I'm still out there knocking on doors and counting people whose census questionnaires hadn't been received at the census office. We are aiming to finish up by the middle of next week. For the most part, I've had a great time getting out there and talking to people in the community.
