Clint missed the train last night so I offered to drive him to Chicago this morning so he could get to work by 8a. This is the sight we saw at every turn. I did not realize that it had rained enough to close the major highways. It took us 4 hours to get to Chicago! Obviously he was late to work.

I was a volunteer in the dunk tank for the summer picnic at work. I think I got dunked about 6-7 times within 30 minutes.

We rehearsed at the park district dance studio tonight and the kids were playing with some of the other equipment they had there. The girl taking the picture of Annie was in Shelby's class in school last year. I like that all of these kids are getting to know each other better, even though they aren't in the same grades or same schools.

We have heard that the traveling baseball team will no longer be playing here (near our back yard) because the association has given them a hard time about driving on the bike path, etc. We are super bummer because we loved watching the games. Not to mention that the field has become over grown because no one is taking care of it any longer.

I was looking at Miranda's picture of her kitty and realized that Jesse's cat looks a lot like hers. Such a pretty coloring. Jesse's cat came from a shelter and she is still a bit skittish, so she wouldn't hold still for a picture.

Nikki spent some time in the hospital today with contractions. They gave her IV fluids, and they slowed down. They think she may have been dehydrated. But we are not so sure. She is still having contractions - not so strong or often though. Hopefully she can hold out until her scheduled c-section. I don't want to take another emergency drive to the hospital - too nerve wracking.

Vaughn and Amanda have been on a two week road trip. They started in Colorado visiting family and then went to Yellowstone, Devil's Tower, Mt. Rushmore and some other stops. Today we got postcards from them.

At her last doctor visit, Nikki's doctor thought the baby was really big, so she ordered an ultrasound. She had it this morning. Everything looks good, and she is only 6 lb. 14 oz. right now.
