Whittling some walking sticks for Cole outdoor ed trip later this month. Each 5th grader needs to bring a stick and then they paint them and use them on their trip.

We found a baby bird on a low branch at the dog park, today. After moving it to a higher branch & then going home to research, the kids harvested seeds & berries from our yard & we went back to check on it. It was down on the ground, in even more danger. Eventually, it's mother came to check on it and we moved it to a high branch on a tree outside of the dog park.

The last time that they were at the library, Annie picked out a kids' cookbook & Dad promised to help her use the stove. Tonight, in the steamy hot kitchen, they made some very delicious macaroni & cheese with real butter & lots of melty cheese, then baked in the oven. Yummy!

Ever since my mom bought this stool for Gianni, he LOVES to brush his teeth. This is probably the 6th time he has brushed his teeth...and it's only 11am! : )

Aunt Mary Lou has not been feeling well since Saturday. I talked her into going to the doctor today. Her doctor sent her for blood work and urinalysis. No results yet.

This is where I wasted 1 1/2 hours of my day. A girl at work had an altercation with her 'ex' boyfriend on company property and I was subpaeoned as a witness. But she did not show up to testify because, from what I hear, she is back with him! The State is not dropping the case so the court date has been postponed for 6 weeks when I will probably waste more time. I told the States Attorney that he will probably have to arrest her to get her to show up. FYI - I have never had a good relationship with this girl and this puts the icing on the cake. Enough ranting.

Cole's first day with homework for this school year. He had to interview another student at school and then write a report about her. Here he is drawing a picture of her. He didn't know how to draw her so we got out the class picture from last year.

Annie asked for a variety pack of 100 balloons at the store, yesterday and has spent much of the afternoon today playing with them in all kinds of ways. She's easily entertained by balloons.

We had a picnic today with Miss DiBartolo (Cole's teacher from last year). She had to move to another school this year as there were not enough classes for her to teach at Harrison again. The kids just loved her and she loved them too.

James is 25 months old today. We went grocery shopping and this was James and Emily's first time in one of these car carts. They loved it.

I hope that it keeps on working for another 6-10 days, because so far it doesn't seem to be doing much at all. Doctor said I had bronchitis last Wednesday & it's just wiping me out.
