The elementary schools have a "cheering" contest every year at the homecoming pep rally. Harrison St. School (Cole's school) won this year.

I am wearing my prescription sunglasses at work. It is a long story...I am in a training class this week...one of the trainees forgot his glasses and was not able to see to take a test we had to take today...if you fail the test, you no longer have a job...So, I let him see if he could see with my glasses and he could, so I let him borrow mine...But then I could not see too well to take my test and I remembered I had these sunglasses in my car...I don't use them often but they came in handy today even though I was out of dress code...but under the circumstances, no one mentioned it.

Charlie gets all excited when he sees us using the can opener. It all started with Jim letting him lick out tuna cans from time to time. Tonight, Charlie was so hopeful looking that I let him have the creamed corn can that I had just emptied. I didn't think he'd like it. But, he did.

Marmion is having a corn maze and pumpkin sale on weekends. They even built a new building for the occasion. The barn type building went up in about a week or two. I saw the progression as I drove to work each day.

Gianni loves these frogs. They really belong to our neighbors, but I told her how G loves to play with them when we walk by her house. When we awoke today, we found them on our doorstep!

On the way home from the wedding, we stopped at Kohl's to get some clothes for Jesse to wear to the homecoming dance next Saturday. While we were there, Nikki, Madi, and Jesse started to get silly with the hats and suspenders. I think this happens every time that we go to Kohl's.

I was trying to take a picture showing how dark it was at 10am due to the rain storm but I could not figure out how to turn off the flash on my camera! By the time I figured it out, the rain had stopped.

While on Route 47 today, I noticed a flag on the side of the road. Then realized that the flags were staggered along the road for miles and miles! I thought it was so nice - and it made me wonder who put them there.

I had to take a picture of my gas guage for memories. I NEVER have a full tank of gas. In fact, the needle is usually always pointing at E, and rarely is ever above 1/4 tank. We took a trip to Lincoln, IL to attend a wedding, so I filled up the tank.

I went to the parent meeting at the school tonight, where we learned about Shelby's class going to Camp Taft. Every time they mentioned meals at camp, I panicked just a little bit. I'm sure that the Camp Taft staff deals with food allergies in one student group or another every week, but it's still frightening to trust them to not give him food that will make him stop breathing. His teacher is going to put me in touch with the dietitian there tomorrow.

I made an unusual salad today. It is cantaloupe, tomato and cucumbers with a vinegar/oil dressing. Sounds strange but is actually quite good.
