Yes, it is January 5th in Chicago and instead of picking up my shovel I picked up my rake (it was 45ish degrees out). We have one tree that holds onto it's leaves forever and all of these leaves were beginning to bother me. I felt so strange raking around the snowman and polar bear.

We are enjoying the dinner that Dylan and Lauren made us tonight (too bad she had to leave before it was done). As we ate dinner we listened to a new song from "Secret Colours" being played on WXRT. We decided to make some rosettes today. After about half of the usual batter, we mixed in some molasses, ginger, cinnamon & cloves, to try making them gingerbread flavored. I've still got a cold, so I'm not sure whether they're yummy or not.

Today we finally got to see Joe!! He came home from deployment. We made a sign for him and they kids were so excited to see him. We even got interviewed for the news but we got bumped off once they got footage of the 1st open Gay kiss. Joe was almost the last person to get off the ship we were waiting in the rain and it got cold.
