Today I went to the doctor and she said that I need to stay on bed rest and they will try to stop me from having the baby for another 4 weeks then they wont stop anything and let me have the baby. I just have really low blood pressure so she is worried about that. I may need to be put on strict bed rest. Now I have to see the doc every week. Plus James got an adorable hair cut!! Like father like son.

We went to a "starting solids" class today...Gianni tried avocado, sweet potatoes and pears! It was fun although he wasn't a big fan of the sweet potatoes!

I bought a new tire rim for Cole last night. His was bent and a lot of the spokes were broken. So, today I figured out how to move the inner tube and tire to the new one all by myself. It was easy and I saved myself $10 (that's how much the bike store wanted to charge).

I cut the heads off of all of the sunflowers, today & put them inside plastic bags marked with the kind of flower it was (tall large yellow, small multi tall magenta, etc). I left the bags loose so that air could, hopefully, circulate & dry them out. Then, I hung them in the garage, to make it more challenging for the mice & squirrels to get at them. By late fall or early spring, I hope to pack up all of the seeds so that the kids can share them with cousins & classmates who can grow gardens full of sunflowers next year, harvest the seeds themselves & share them with their own friends.

First it was the rhubarb from my neighbor. Then it was, and still is zucchini - TONS of zucchini. And now it is apples, bags and bags of apples. Gotta love the guy, but where in the world does he think I have the time for all of this?

I took our cat to the vet today. I just LOVE Dr. Juriga. I highly recommend Valley Animal Hospital!

Beware! This is a scam! It was an extra charge on the last page of my recent phone bill. I never heard of this company, nor subscribed to any such thing! Don't even have a fax machine! Why AT&T bills for these frauds, I don't know. After much frustration, and several phone calls, I think I cancelled whatever it is, and am getting a credit. (I hope). Boy, did their telephone person (Jorge) get an earful from me!

These are growing on our dwarf pear trees. At first, we thought they were weird apple-pears (since the pear trees are right next to some apple trees). Last year, though, we spent some time researching them & discovered that they are quinces. Many dwarf trees are grafted on quince root stock for some reason I can't remember. We must have planted too deep or too shallow, causing the quince to sprout it's own tree. Last year, we made some quince jelly with them. I'm not sure what we'll try this year, yet.
