Cool leafbug that we found on Colleen's deck. The kids had a discussion on the drive home about which pool was better - Colleen's or the Park District Pool. Colleen's pool won - hands down!

Nikki spent some time in the hospital today with contractions. They gave her IV fluids, and they slowed down. They think she may have been dehydrated. But we are not so sure. She is still having contractions - not so strong or often though. Hopefully she can hold out until her scheduled c-section. I don't want to take another emergency drive to the hospital - too nerve wracking.

Vaughn and Amanda have been on a two week road trip. They started in Colorado visiting family and then went to Yellowstone, Devil's Tower, Mt. Rushmore and some other stops. Today we got postcards from them.

At her last doctor visit, Nikki's doctor thought the baby was really big, so she ordered an ultrasound. She had it this morning. Everything looks good, and she is only 6 lb. 14 oz. right now.

We went to a comic book store today, after I turned in my census stuff. It brought back a lot of nice memories for me of buying comic books with Marla & Molly, then trading them with each other as we finished them.

This is what's left of the tree that I had to cut down so that the sun could hit the solar pool heater that I made. It can't be cut down any further without renting a larger chain saw than the one that we used. So, I'm thinking that I should do something crafty with it: strip the bark and let the kids paint it, learn how to carve a bird or a bear or a dolphin into it, make a cool sundial out of it.....any other ideas?
