Tonight we slept over at my moms since I'm on bed rest and need help with James and Joe needs to work very early in the morning tomorrow. Today was someone's birthday so they brought treats for all the kids. James first goodie bag.

What I worked on all day at work today...putting up a new bulletin board.

Cole September 25, 2009

This is a picture of me and my friends at Funway. Too bad I fell down and could not roller skate as well. But I still had fun.

I love how the composition of this picture came out - 3 kids up, 2 kids down, with a nice little up/down pattern. Hey Betty, are those my hidden math skills kicking in?

Today we got a package with Joe's uniforms in it and James loved playing in the box

The Park District hosted a Family Game Night at the Middle School, tonight.

I always forget to bring my camera with, so here's the "after" picture. Nikki and I went out to dinner at a Mexican restaurant to celebrate her raise that she got at work today.

Cole September 24, 2009

In this picture I am doing a manule. It is when you put your back foot on the tail and lift up the front weels. I think I am doing very good at skateboarding so far. This is my first picture of the day and I'll say I did good.

Marla September 24, 2009

At first I didn't think this picture was good because I chopped Cole's head off. But, after I took a better look at it I really like it now. I like the way that Cole is in focus and everything else is blurry.

Got the results today the test came out positive I have to see the doctor every week now and stay on bed rest. I packed everything so i'm ready since the baby can come at any time from now and up to 2 weeks. I just hope I can keep her in as long as I can.

Once I finished spinning all the wool, I ended up with these four ugly balls of "singles". You can use them this way, but it is much better if you twist (or ply) them together to make 2-ply yarn.

This is the 2-ply yarn I ended up with... When you are just learning, you get some sections that are skinny and some fat, but when you ply them together they sort of even out in a lumpy sort of way... Who wants a lumpy scarf for Christmas?

Marla September 23, 2009

We went to "Yeah! Boardshop" today to get Cole's skateboard all ready to go....Thanks, Steve!

Something ate my hydrangea plant overnight...that doesn't make me very happy!

Today I went to the doc's office and they took me a test to see if the baby was going to come in the next 2 weeks and they told me that the result would come back tomorrow. James also got a bad rash since he's getting 3 new teeth. Poor baby, so we took him a milk bath to soothe his bottom.

Betty September 22, 2009

Over the weekend a couple people asked what we did when it was nasty and we couldn't go outside. Dick reads and naps. I do silly things like "spin yarn"... This is some wool I bought from a fantastic shop on a farm near Marengo, with about half of it spun onto two handspindles. Very relaxing, once you practice enough to stop cussing... Especially if you can watch some girly movies while you do it!

Today in the mail I received 2 copies of the Family Fun magazine with my jellyfish costume idea published in it. They changed it quite a bit, but I guess that since they bought the idea from me, they can do what they want with it. I think my version was much cuter! And, I stll haven't received the $200 that they are paying me. I guess I'll give them a couple of weeks, then check into it. Still, it's fun to see my idea used - and on two pages!
