I seem to remember reading about the girls in the 'Little House on the Prairie' books doing that, too. Or, maybe I just remember you guys telling me about it & got it mixed up with the books.
I remember. We made them at Grandma Farrell's house I think.
The hollyhocks were kind of behind the "little house" on the side closest to Grandma's, as I remember. Right next to the rhubarb... (yuck)I grew them at my house in Colorado and tried to show the little girl nextdoor how to make dolls, but she just wasn't interested. Ah well...
