This picture is actually from last night. After the volcano experiment, we mixed up cornstarch and water to make "magic mud." It is hard and smooth. When you pick it up, the heat of your hand makes it liquid and slimy. It looks like a mess, but she had fun, and it was really easy to clean up.

Caution, do not put this down your kitchen drain!
I agree, this is a great fun project with kids.
We used this mixture in massage school. It helped to teach us the right pressure to use on clients. If you push too hard, too fast you can't penatrate the surface. But if you press slowly you can get in deeper. :)
