I had somewhat of a victory tonight at the school board meeting (which was held at the high school). For those of you that don't know...I was told a few weeks ago that my job was being considered in the budget cuts for next year. There was a lot of input from the public and staff. They voted tonight to reduced our hours instead of eliminating us completely.

Congratulations! Too bad though that your hours will be cut. Will you cut out full days or the time you spend there each day?
Hooray! Way to keep thinking positive..it sure does pay off!
That's good! Our district is considering cutting actual librarians, having them travel from school to school and then putting the (now part-time) aides on full-time at each school.
It's crazy what all the school districts are having to do this year. I didn't even think that Geneva was struggling...
I would have liked your solution better Maureen...moving librarians from school to school and having aides full time...but, no one asked me. I'm not quite so positive now...I just found out that I may lose all of my sick time and I won't be able to contribute to my retirement fund...I still have to look into this.
