No, we ended up going with helium balloons with postcards attached. The postcards ask the finders to send them back to Colleen's address, so we're looking forward to seeing how far they all went.
The green balloons that we sent off later had little lights inside, but, unfortunately, many of them didn't have enough helium in them to lift them away with the weight of the postcard -and- the light. Next time, I'm getting two canisters of helium :-)
I do helium balloons every year with the child care kids. They aren't always found. This year, Madi's was found in Grand Rapids, MI. That is where most of our balloons are found. We just tie on a small piece of paper with the info to make it lighter to fly further. Our furthest was found in a lake in Canada by fishermen!
