Today I caught James playing with the dog Molly gave him . He loves it. He moves all the way to the end of his crib just to play with it. Also he ate a cookie for the first time. He loved it and it was sooo messy.

This is our favorite tree. It is huge and the branches go all the way to the ground, but there is a big empty space inside. The kids always play in there, so we are turning it into a fairy garden. We put tree stump benches in there. The kids are going to paint them. We have added some strings of beads to the branches. Next will be tiny mirrors hanging from the branches, painted clay pot houses, a sunken bowl of water for a pool, and any other fairy things that we think to add.

Farrells last prayer circle at St.Marys. Because of that they honored the eighth grade by making them stand in the middle and then Mrs.Ray, use to be pre-school now first grade teacher, said a few words about some of the kids. She recalled how Farrell was the only boy in the class and how he liked to vacuum the room before he left for the day. I am not sure he even would remember how to run a vacuum now. This teacher was special. She taught him 3 and 4 year old pre-school and then when he was moving into first grade so did she. Nice memories.

We'll often tape interesting things that the kids made onto our walls, then leave them there indefinitely. A month or so ago, Annie & Bryce had a game where they'd make pictures of 'good vs evil', then bring them to other people in the house & ask them to circle the winner - 'good' or 'evil'. Annie always rooted for 'good' to win. Bryce had fun rooting for 'evil'. :-) I'm not sure which of the two of them drew this picture, but it makes me smile every time I walk past it.

Remember that picture from Feb. 25? The scale read 158. It has taken me 3 months but I have finally made it into the 140's! 10 pounds in 3 months - maybe I'll have to do another picture in August to see if I can drop another 10.

Gross, I know. This is after scrubbing my hands. Today I tried to get the pool going (still a few more obstacles.) Had to screw closed a bunch of clamps. That mark in the middle of my hand is where the screwdriver slipped and stabbed me. Then I moved on to pulling weeds, pruning a rose bush (many thorns sticking me), and raking and sweeping up many leaves. My hands have had it! Guess I'll break out some lotion.

My mom and I went to visit Amanda, Jazmine and Grandma and Grandpa today....There was a car parked near their graves with a man sitting in a chair reading a book (the History of Batavia and he also had sunblock). As we were getting ready to leave, he asked us if we knew the girl on the headstone (pointing towards Amanda and Jaz). We said "yes" and then he told us how he and others had put flags out for Memorial day and that they were "touched" by her headstone. He also said he gave them a flag because he was so "touched." Telling the story here does not do justice to how sweet it was to have that man acknowledge Amanda and Jazmine....

This is one of those days that I had a lot of photo options. I couldn't decide on just one so I am going to bend the "photo a day" idea and today you get two from me. Dylan got his hair cut and boy did he get his money's worth (I wish that I had a before photo) I think that it looks really good, he's not so sure. And, then Cole tried the Mentos in Coke trick. It was fun but the explosion lasted for only about 3 seconds.

I got new candy for our candy dish (used to be Aunt Betty's candy dish). It was down to about 3 pieces of candy that no one wanted. I always like to fill it without letting anyone know...and then when they take the lid off they are surprised by the new treats.
