I got Cole a new pair of shoes. They came with 2 different color laces...he wanted one of each. As I was unlacing and relacing the one shoe that needed to be changed I was thinking...When they make shoes is there a machine that laces them or is that someones job to lace shoes all day?

Kline Creek Farm posted on it's Facebook page that they had a bunch of new lambs born yesterday. We went out to see them today & were so excited to bring Tabitha out with us. The kids had a great time teaching her to say 'bawk' and 'baaa' and 'moo'.

Eric and I went to see "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" at a movie theater in Glen Ellyn. Cole was at a birthday party and this was the closest theater that had a showing that would work within that time frame.

Our furnace has been acting up for about a month...shutting itself off here and there. Eric finally had enough and called the heating company. The guy cleaned the senors and thinks it should be fine for a while but we will probably need to get a new one soon.

I picked Dylan and Vaughn up from the airport tonight (returning from their trip to Sundance Film Festival) They were supposed to come home last night but their flight was overbooked and they gave up their seats. They were given a hotel room for the night and a $500 travel voucher (each) for their trouble (and missed day of school). Now they can't decide where they should go with those vouchers (they do have lots of ideas though)

I love taking the kids out in the snow, but it's hard because Gianni never wants to come back in and Gabriele isn't so much a fan of the snow yet...so, I decided the boys could help me bake since we were kinda snowed in. We made healthy 6 week muffins (you make the batter, put it in the fridge and then take it out as needed so you always have warm out of the oven muffins!) and fudge.

Eric and Cole went to an overnight sleepover at the Field Museum in Chicago. The snowstorm put quite a new twist on their travels there. And, the next photo shows all of the free "swag" that Dylan and Vaughn got on Day 1 of their trip to the Sundance Film Festival.

I had a rebate form for this product (that would have made it free) and I had the hardest time finding it in the right size (20 lbs). I found it at Target in the wrong size but it had a different rebate form on the box so I decided to get it. It will end costing less that $3.00. Thought I would share...maybe you want to go get some too. FYI-It is for Dylan's cat (I buy it for them when I see it on a good sale)

This is the computer screen radio/temperature control/phone system in our new car. It is really fun to play with but what is not fun is that red triangle button below the screen. It is to turn on the hazard lights. Sometimes the way that I rest my hand as I am controlling the screen I inadvertently hit that button. So, if you see me driving around with my hazard lights on...everything is most likely ok. I also thought that Maureen would enjoy the song that was playing.

Jim's wedding ring has been falling off of him for a few weeks now due to all of the weight he's lost. Tonight, my ring fell off while I was putting some dishes away in the kitchen.

Any advice on how we can keep them from falling off? I'd hate to lose them.

My favorite part of commuting is reading the RedEye (especially doing the Sudoku & Crossword). Its how I get my brain working every morning. The absence of this ritual on the weekends must be why my brain barely functions on Saturday & Sunday.

Now, it's just a souvenir of a job that I used to have. Worked my last shift there today. As much as I didn't like some of the ways that the store was managed, I did enjoy interacting with the customers as they shopped for nice things to wear. They always had interesting stories about the places they'd be wearing the new clothes.

Its weird that you (Maureen) posted a picture about your rings falling off, because I had to remove my engagement ring because I noticed two of the four prongs were broken. We looked at it through the loupe and my diamond was very close to falling out. I was very lucky I didn't lose it.
