We went to the Oprah show this morning. Kind of a boring show. But still fun to see the studio and how they tape a show.

Please accept my congratulations for your fine academic record and my best wishes for your intellectual and personal growth, too!

Look how happy I am (that's because the finish line is right ahead). Miranda and I ran a 5K in Elburn today. We finished in 33 minutes and 54 seconds.

The picture that got away. This squirrel was sitting upright in the flower pot and looking so cute, but of course, as soon as I got the camera he moved.

We took Charlie for a walk at Fabyan today. While there, I met three generations of women visiting from the Lagrange Park area. They had been coming to Fabyan for decades and knew more about it's history than I did, even though I grew up so close to the park.

We had a couple of people over tonight. By the looks of it though, you would have thought we had a rip roaring party! : )

Today I fed Emily cereal for the first time. She loved it! Then I went to this new outdoor mall that is 8 mins away from me. It was so wonderful!

Remember my picture about the dream and then fortune cookie about gold? Maureen suggested that maybe it would be a bushel of corn. I jokingly told her thanks for squashing my dream. Today I had a fun surprise in the mail from Maureen. She sent me these "gold" tickets. I won $20! And, as much as I could use the money, I think that I will "pay it forward" to a family that today gave Jesse a free half pipe skateboard ramp (that would cost around $600 to make.) So, thanks Maureen!

We got the lawn areated today. It's funny to me because when I was younger, my friend Mandi's parents, had this done to their lawn - and we thought it was dog poop!

OMG! I wish that I had had the good sense to take a picture BEFORE I ate four and a half of these giant coconut shrimp... The coconut wasn't fried in the batter. They were just drizzled in a coconut sauce and sprinkled with flakes... YUM!!!

Here's what happens when you teach preschoolers to read and spell. I could hear them collaborating on this while I was getting a baby down from snack. In their world, this is the height of hilarity, second only to replacing any word in a sentence with the word "eyeball."
