This painting hangs over the toilet in our basement. We didn't hang it there. It was there when we moved in. I sometimes wonder who hung it there, why they decided to put it there, where they got it and if it's worth anything...

I actually love this picture. It is similar to one that I have, only it is more like summer/fall in my painting. Weird, but it is fun to imagine being in the place - hiking, canoeing, etc.
Yep - someone either imagined that and then painted it -or- it exists somewhere & they painted it (either while there, from memory, or from a photo).
I'd like to know more about who painted it. Tried reading the signature, then googling it, but only came up with one hit. I wrote an email to the museum, though & hope to hear what they know about the artist.
