I never thought all those years ago that one day I would be attending Terra's wedding.

How awesome! Who went with you? Did you cry? I need to know more...

Nikki went with me. And yes, I did cry - as soon as she started walking down the aisle. It hit me like a ton of bricks - leaving her at the hospital, thinking I would never see her again - but hoping. Kevin was there with his wife. Bittersweet is the perfect word for - all of it.

I left a comment yesterday but somehow it is not showing up. I think I said something like 'How Terrific!' But now I have other questions too. Did you meet and talk to her parents? Did Terra introduce you to people and if so, how? etc. We want to hear the whole story. Why don't you bring pictures and plan to tell us all after the Swedish Days Parade on June 27.

I commented too and it is gone (also commented on some other photos and they are gone too). I said something like "How cool and I hope that you had a lot of fun"

I want to hear more also. I was suppose to offer for your to stay at John's aunt Sharon's house that weekend. She is a friend of Terra's mother. But I did not think it was coming up so soon. And didn't think you would want to stay there any way.

I put some pictures up on Facebook. I didn't take a lot, it just felt kind of creepy snapping pictures of people that I didn't know that well. I would have liked to have had a picture of me, Terra & Kevin together, but it didn't happen. Terra was quite busy all evening, so we didn't talk much. I did talk with both of her parents. And, Kevin and I were both introduced to everyone as Terra's birthparents. Everyone was very welcoming. Between church and the reception, we had 2 hrs. to kill, so we drove to Iowa. Then, because of construction we could not get back! We were 45 min. late for the reception, but Kevin & his wife saved seats for us. We ate dinner with them. Kind of weird, but nice too. Terra was very happy all evening. I am very honored that I was invited, and I wouldn't have missed it for the world. But....still quite sad for me, thinking about what could have been.

I just looked at the pictures Nikki posted also hoping for one of you and Kevin with her... Or a good close-up of Terra.

But I'm so glad that you got to experience her joy! It looks like she is very happy with a lovely loving family. And although we know she could have been just as happy with us, your life went ahead and gave us Nikki and Gabby and Jesse and Madi and ....!

There's just so many feelings that go along with this. I guess that it is a testament to how happy a life Terra had, but sharing our family/heritage seems more important to me than to her. And it did mean a lot to me to be invited, and I know that I should count my blessings. And I AM blessed. Still, seeing her, and Kevin, and everyone so happy, well I can't help thinking, "the cheese stands alone..."
