Allison & John picking blueberries at a you-pick in Indiana. I love having a freezer full of you-pick blueberries to use all winter long. It's a nice reminder of summer when it's cold outside.

Where is this at? What a fun idea!

We ended up at StateLine Blueberries this year - had gone there one other time, too, a couple years ago. Their website says they're still picking - http://www.statelineblueberries.com/ It's hot work (although temps are heading down this week), but you get to eat while you go :-) One for me, two for the bucket (or vice versa...)

Some years we go to Tammen Berry Tree Farm near Braidwood.

After picking in Indiana, this year, we headed to Mighigan City's Public Beach (Jim dropped us off at the beach then parked downtown to save the $10 parking fee there). Other years, we go to Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. It's a National park so there's a per-car fee (I think it's around $12). Lots of great sand dunes there, along with a Lake Michigan beach.

Sounds like a fun vacation!

Wasn't even a vacation - we did it as a day trip - a very long, hot, exhausting day trip
