Today was such a beautiful day! Me and James were in the backyard on the deck playing in the sun. Riley and Juneau were there too. But James got his first cut on his finger not sure how, so i put a bandaid on his finger but during his nap it disappeared. Than we went on a walk and took the dogs along with us it got cooler outside though.

This picture is actually from Thursday. It was an all school art project. The kids each got two hands cut out. One in aluminum and one in copper. They then tooled them. The aluminum was much easier than the copper. They were able to take the aluminum one home and the copper ones will be put on poles and auctioned off at next years school auction as garden art. I helped all day with this. And have cuts on my hand from the copper to prove it. These are the finished products from Farrell's class. I very much enjoyed this and took some scraps home and have not been able to stop working with it. I think it's my new obsession.

When Vaughn got home from school today he was flipping between two court shows. I thought it was cute...since he wants to be a lawyer.

Here are a couple of items that were found in the attic of Nikki's new house. There is a lot more stuff up there and I am anxiously awaiting Sat. morning when I am going to go up there to look around. The picture shows 4 guys sitting on the porch of Nikki's house and the back says, "My roommates" and lists their names. This is a fun new puzzle to solve. I am trying to date the photo - maybe the 40's? I plan to go to the county recorder's office and look up the past deeds to the house. I believe there is some very interesting history there. One of the men is identified as Guy Easterly, and if you google his name, he may be a quite noteable writer. Who knows what other treasures are up in that attic!

What a beautiful day! Our first walk...I was DYING to get out of the house!

Maureen April 16, 2009

The kids had a yo-yo assembly today. The show was free, if PTO agreed to sell yo-yo's at lunchtime for a few days. Because of that, though, we only got one show & had to fit all 400+ kids into the gym at once!

Look what I found while I had the dogs come in, one big rabbit and lots of birds filled our yard. Plus Joe got a new truck needed one that was big enough for 2 baby car seats. We love it!

Miranda April 15, 2009

These are the plants that I re-potted a while back....not looking so good! They didn't get water while I was hospitalized and have dwindled away : (

Lance's great grandpa (whom I have never met) stopped by today. He said that Lance told him that I took him to the Globetrotters, and that Lance is always telling him nice things about me. So, the grandpa stopped by with this little gift to thank me. That was so nice of him!

Maureen April 14, 2009

We got a new litter of puppies today! They're from a full litter of eight, but we only have five of them (Shari didn't want to overwhelm us with all eight!) This one kept on licking Charlie.

Margie April 14, 2009

I usually only watch the first few episodes of American Idol to see the funny people trying out. This year I got hooked and watch it every week. This guy, Adam Lambert, is probably going to win, but there are some others that I like better.

Donna April 14, 2009

I hate to be a party pooper, but I have already got this game from 2 people. Might have to send somebodys back...I dont know if I can think of 6 people, let alone 12? And I dont want to ruin it..Looks like fun though

Miranda April 14, 2009

We got an e-mail today about Brendan's grades...he is doing SO well...made the honor roll again! We are so proud of him!

Hoping that each one of those tiny white flowers becomes a yummy cherry over the course of the next couple of months.

Molly April 13, 2009

Since we were not able to go away for spring break I let each boy pick a meal that they wanted me to cook. Farrell wanted shrimp scampi and this is what Stephen requested. We had it last night. The last night of their spring break.

Margie April 13, 2009

I didn't want to use all of my tax return money on bills. Through the Cub Scouts, we got discount tickets to the Globetrotters. We were in the 3rd row. Very fun!

Marla April 13, 2009

I need to buy some new headphones.

Look what the Easter Bunny brought!

Jen April 12, 2009

Happy Easter! Today was James 1st Easter. The Easter Bunny gave him books and some toys. Plus I hid some eggs around the house and he found them. Then it was the dog's turn Riley got most of the treats though must be the Beagle in him. Then we went to Colleen's house and hunted for eggs there too. Stephen was nice to James and gave him two of his eggs, that was very sweet of him. James had such a busy day! Plus the food was soo yummy. Plus we all celebrated Adam and Aunt Mary Lou's Birthday.

Marla April 12, 2009

Maureen April 12, 2009

We've been without puppies for over a week, now (more coming on Tuesday, we think). The kids enjoyed spending time with tiny Coco (or, is it Cocoa?).

Miranda April 12, 2009

Sorry we didn't make it today...Gianni is congested, I STILL haven't gotten rid of my cold and Joe is just plain exhausted from working so much! We thought of you all and miss you dearly! Gianni still wore his "first Easter outfit" that Molly gave him! Thanks Molly!

Today was Ben's Baptism (Janet's Husband). We went out to dinner then watched Ben get Baptized.

Maureen April 11, 2009

Annie was invited to a classmate's birthday party at Cosley Zoo in Wheaton. Shelby was invited, too, to hang out with the birthday girl's big brother, who is a friend & classmate of his. The flowers were beautiful there.
