Marla, my mom and I went to see Oprah today. Cameras must be "checked" if you bring them into her studio, so we left ours in the car. So, I never took any pictures at her studio...and this one if off the internet. I wasn't too impressed with Oprah though. Kind of disappointed by her acutally. But the experience, and being with Marla and my mom, made it all worth while!
I got to babysit for Gianni today while Miranda, Donna and Marla went to the Oprah show. I was having so much fun playing with him that I forgot to take a picture, so I took a picture of a picture.
This was our view at the crack of dawn, as Miranda, Marla, and I headed to the Oprah show. It was beautiful, but AWFULLY early!
The old computer finally broke in a way that made it seem more reasonable to just get a new one rather than trying, again, to fix the old one. Jim moved some of the parts from our old one into the new one, though, before plugging it in.
Janet had the baby today. I felt like I was right there even though is was far away. She let me be on the phone to hear everything. when I heard the baby and everyone scream it was a boy it made me soo happy I cried. I really wished I could have been there. It was soo nice my Dad and mom were in the room with Janet and Ben to see the baby being born. I'm so happy I got to be a part of Baby Brady Gordon Schmidt's delivery.
While waiting to get my hair cut today I was looking for a magazine to browse through. All that they had was haircut/style magazines and Men's magazines...boring!
Today was the last day of Religious Education (CCD) for the year. These are gifts that I received from my students.
Jim's just wrapping up his temp job with the census this week. I start mine on Saturday.
Finally got to a doctor today... Good news! Same blood pressure and cholesterol meds plus water pills, aspirin and calcium... And the insurance covered all but $17.64. But still have HP/Agilent insurance. Wondering what Medicare will be like...
This was my view for 2 hours and 15 minutes, waiting for the tires to get put on my car. I can't complain though, since the tires were a gift. And now maybe my car will hold up for a little while longer.
James is doing soo well with his potty training. No more #2 in his diaper only in the toilet now. He love his books when he's on the potty. He asks for it by saying "bubble bubble."

Today, we took Maggie with us on our walk. She does so much better on a leash than Charlie does. And, surprisingly, she seemed to enjoy the dog park, so we've decided to get dog park passes for both of the dogs this year.
Today is Janet's due date. but still no baby. I took a late Easter type picture with Jessica's bunny ears when she was a baby.
I bought this airplane toy on clearance at the end of last summer. Eric and Cole tried it out today. It didn't really work as good as I thought it would (I'm glad that I got it on sale).

Another day, another body of water to explore. This time it was a small lake in another very nearby forest preserve that we've never been to before. Charlie still refuses to understand 'heel', though, no matter how much it must hurt him when he pulls & pulls on his leash.
I don't know what was worse, the garlic mustard weeds I started pulling in my yard or the slobs that I work with. Why would someone spill an iced coffee drink inside a building and not bother to bend over and clean it up?!?
We've grown to really like mangos in our house. Although, I don't really like cutting them up because I feel like I'm wasting so much of it.

On our way in to see "Patchwork - The Little House Life of Laura Ingalls Wilder" at COD, today. We won tickets to the show in the fun fair raffle & have been reading the books together for the past few weeks to get ready for today. She's liking the books as much as I remember liking them when I was her age.
This isn't the best picture - we've had so many robins in our yard lately. Gianni just loves it! He says "Birdie!" - atleast that is what we think he is saying! : )

Allergies are really bothering me today. I struggled through work and then when I got home my eyes started itching really bad. Eric went to CVS for me and got me some new eye drops and a new box of Claritin.
My neighbors had the fire truck at their house because their fire alarms had been going off. So, my mom and G walked over to see the fire truck!
We explored a new (to us) park in West Chicago, today. It had a nice fishing pond and wading creek. I'm sure we'll be going back there again & again.

Brendan's first track meet! He is doing the hurdles and the high jump. He placed first in his heat in hurdles - He is not a big fan of doing the high jump (he said the coaches picked him to do high jump).
This is the best picture I could take from the nice restaurant we were in, with my stupid camera, but the cropped version was what I was really seeing on tax day... The US flag was flying high, with the California and McDonald's flags flying beneath it.
I'm SURE that this has some deep meaning like, because the US and CA have taken "more than ALL" your money, you should really be eating at McDonald's...
At the Fun Fair silent auction, Annie won a breakfast with one of her favorite teachers (they're really all her favorites, though, I think). She brought this flowering plant with her when she went in early for the breakfast date, today.
I took Madi and the child care kids to the Nippersink Creek today so that they could play and cool off in the water.
